Hydrogen Peroxide Injection Systems

Using Hydrogen Peroxide is the most effective treatment for solving the most annoying water problems:

    • Sulphur Smell (hydrogen sulphide gas)
    • Iron Staining (ferrous hydroxide “clear iron” as well as iron bacteria)
    • Slime Colonies (clogging everything in the system)
    • Gasoline Contamination
    • Black Manganese Staining

And, it is 100% guaranteed or all your money back.

For more detail on how Hydrogen Peroxide is used to improve well water quality please refer to this link.

Advanced Water Treatment relies on the the Stenner Pump to ensure the proper control over your H2O2 instection system. We will perform an assessment of your home installation and recommend the soluition (in-house or well-injection) that is best suited for your needs.  Depending on your specific needs we often recommend the use of a carn backwash filter to further reduce contaniments in your well water.

Please see the following links for insformation on the pumps we use, and the details related to in-house or well injection systems.

    Activated Carbon (Backwash) Filter

A carbon filter removes any residual peroxide along with removing any extra sulphur or iron particulates for the water.  The result is clean water. If needed, AWT can supply, install and service External link opens in new tab or windowClack activated carbon filters as the final stage in your hydrogen peroxide injection system.

    In-House Injection Systems

An in-house injection system consists of a pump and mixing container that is installed between the well-head and the pressure tank.  The pump can be wired in to activiate based on water flow or directly to the pressure switch on your pressure tank. Either method will ensure the correct concentration of hydrogen peroxide present in the line to ensure that odour causing bacteria and iron deposits are eliminated.

At Advanced Water Treatment we typically use Flexlite Baffle Tanks in our in-house installations.

With the addition of a carbon backwash filter you can improve water clarity by removing any remaining sediments in the water

    Well-Injection Systems

Advanced Water Treatment has developed a control system that injects concentrated hydrogen peroxide from your basement out to and down in the well, every day, year round. As long as there is a residual of peroxide in the water, you will never have the problem again. The chemical pump is adjusted to meet your requirements.

Before installing the system in your basement, we pour several litres of hydrogen peroxide down the well. This shocks the well and burns off the organic bio-fouling clinging to the walls of the well. In some cases, this fouling has been so severe that clouds of steam have come out the top of the casing.

Two weeks after installation, we check the system and the residual peroxide in the raw water. We make adjustments to give the optimum dosage. A carboy of Hydrogen Peroxide can last 6 to 24 months, depending on your requirements.

A well-injection system  injects into the well, the column of water acts as a mixing reservoir before water even enters the house. That’s why large mixing or holding tanks are unnecessary.

    More About Hydrogen Peroxide

    Column

Hydrogen Peroxide provides the free oxygen that kills all anaerobic bacteria. They are literally poisoned by it. Because we deliver small amounts throughout the day year round, your well is kept clean and free of these bacteria. It is non-toxic and does not corrode metals.

Hydrogen peroxide is a powerful oxidizing agent, more powerful than chlorine and potassium permanganate. It is relatively safe and decomposes into oxygen and water. It won’t form carcinogenic disinfection by-products, such as tri-halomethanes (THMs), the way chlorine does. In low concentrations, it has no odour and is non-inflammable.

Care must be taken when handling concentrated (35%) H202. We use a special chemical pump to inject the concentrated hydrogen peroxide right from the drum. Other types of pumps will make the H202 “gas out”, causing the pump to lose its prime. You never have to touch the system. We will replace the carboy of peroxide when needed.

H202 has roughly a 28% faster reaction time than chlorine.
